02 deceased crew members found in sunken Hong Gai tugboat in Ha Long Bay

Following the happenings of the search and rescue operation of the missing crew from the Hong Gai tugboat sunken in Ha Long Bay, on the morning of September 12, at the scene with the weather condition of force 3-4 Southern wind, calm seas, visibility from 4-10km, the on-scene coordinator vessel SAR 411 commanded by Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (Vietnam MRCC) kept coordinating with relevant authorities and vessels in vicinity of islands near to Bo Nau cave to search for missing crew.

All the vessels were requested to keep sharp lookout by binoculars, the working boat of SAR 411   was deployed to search in vicinity of the valley, divers kept searching for the missing crew around the wreckage, simultaneously,maritime announcements continued to be broadcasted .

At 06:15 on September 12, the search and rescue team on the scene started diving for the victim’s search in the sunken tugboat. The divers brought 02 deceased crew from the Hong Gai’s wreck onto SAR 411. After that, SAR 411 handed over these 02 bodies to the fire and rescue police boat - PC07 - Quang Ninh to bring them ashore for verification. Currently, the diving search has stopped, SAR 411 continues to search for the missing crew in the vicinity of the area where the Hong Gai tugboat sank.
