On the morning of October 27, 2024, at the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (the Center), Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport Nguyen Xuan Sang chaired an online meeting with Maritime Port Authorities, Maritime Search and Search and Rescue Coordination Center in the area from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai on the response to tropical storm No. 6 (TRAMI) which will move inland in the Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang at noon on October 27.
According to the latest updated National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting report, on the morning of October 27, storm No. 6 was in Quang Tri-Da Nang’s south waters. The sea areas from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai (including Con Co, Ly Son, and Cu Lao Cham islands) have strong winds of level 6-7, near the storm canter level 9-10, gusts of level 12. Sea waves 2 -4m high, near the storm canter 4-6m high. High sea. Coastal areas of Quang Binh - Quang Tri and Quang Ngai - Binh Dinh have sea waves 2-4m high; Hue - Quang Nam areas 3-5m high.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang heard reports directly from the Vietnam Maritime Administration, Maritime Port Authorities, and Search and Rescue forces on duty in the Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang areas about the news of the weather situation at the scene.

Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Transport, Vietnam Maritime Administration, since receiving information about storm TRAMI potentially making landfall in Vietnamese waters, Maritime Units deployed prompt, synchronous and drastic prevention measures, to minimize damage caused by the storm, including:
- Vietnam Maritime Administration requires seaport enterprises and enterprises that own tugboats to coordinate closely with maritime port authorities, and maritime pilot organizations in developing and implementing plans to mobilize ships that are operating in ports to avoid the storm or move to storm shelters; maritime pilot organizations are ready to meet the requests for pilots from ship owners, captains or maritime port authorities to quickly maneuver ships in ports.
- Maritime Port Authorities check, count, and guide ships to avoid dangerous areas of the storm or move to storm shelters; take measures to ensure safety for ships in the anchorage areas; organize and arrange forces, facilities to ensure traffic safety in the area during the process of overcoming natural disasters consequences.
- The Center dispatched a working group to Da Nang; and dispatched SAR vessels to respond to natural disasters, including: SAR 411 on duty in Da Nang, SAR 413 on duty in Nha Trang, ready for search and rescue and to quickly overcome the consequences of Storm No. 6.

All units of the maritime industry are 100% on standby and ready to perform natural disaster prevention and search and rescue tasks when required. Up to now, there have not any accidents or incidents in sea areas that were affected by the storm.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang highly appreciated the preparation to respond to Storm No. 6 at the units in a proactive, methodical, and at the highest level.
With the complicated developments of storm No. 6, after making landfall, it will turn to the sea and potentially form a new depression or storm, the Deputy Minister requested units to keep watch and take timely measures when ships moored at ports or shelter areas have problems due to the storm, especially group of SB ships currently moored at some potentially unsafe locations; The Center and related units gather forces and facilities to promptly handle incidents./.
