Director of Vietnam Maritime Administration (VINAMARINE) visits and works at Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre No.IV

On August 19, 2023, Mr Le Do Muoi, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of VINAMARINE led the working delegation to visit and work with officials and SAR 273’s crew at Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre No.IV (Nha Trang MRCC). This was one of activities of the working delegation to conduct investigation and work with regional centres from Da Nang to Nha Trang. The working session had the attendance of Mr Bui Van Minh, Secretary of the Party Committee, General Director of Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (Vietnam MRCC), leaders and all the officials and workers of Nha Trang MRCC.

Mr Nguyen Xuan Binh, Director of Nha Trang MRCC reported an overview of the centre’s establishment, the achievements and continuos development in search and rescue activity. Over its 17 year history, Nha Trang MRCC has responded to 870 maritime incidents, the total number of supported and rescued people was 5.072, the number of directly rescued people was 550. Only in 2022 and first 8 months of 2023, Nha Trang MRCC dispatched 21 times of search and rescue vessels which saved the lives of 17 foreign crew.

Mr Bui Van Minh, General Director of Vietnam MRCC reported the difficulties and solution suggestions for the Centre to better fulfill assigned tasks in the coming time.

At the working session, Mr Le Do Muoi, Director of Vietnam Maritime Administration acknowledged and highly appreciated the contribution of all officials and crew of Nha Trang MRCC in ensuring maritime safety and security activities in recent times, at the same time, Nha Trang MRCC was required to continue the achievement promotion, to constantly innovate and develop, to build the formal and professional search and rescue force at sea, to gain more and more successes, to be worthy as the mainstay for the local and international fishermen when encountering incidents at sea.

The leadership of Nha Trang MRCC expressed gratitude to Mr. Le Do Muoi, Director of Vietnam Maritime Administration, Mr. Bui Van Minh, General Director of Vietnam MRCC and the working delegation who had visited and encouraged Nha Trang MRCC’s officials and workers as well as raised their determination to successfully fulfill all assigned tasks.
