Promptly rescued fisherman from Binh Dinh fishing vessel encounter accident at sea

On 30^th March 2024, while fishing in the area (about South East 66 nautical miles from Vung Tau Cape, fishing vessel BD 97081 TS had 01 crew (full name: Nguyen Bang; year of birth: 1971; birthplace: Hoai Thanh, Hoai Nhon, Binh Dinh province) suffering a serious injury that led to difficult breathing, blood vomiting in danger of dead. The Captain of BD 97081 TS had directly reported to  Vietnam MRCC (subordinated unit of Vietnam Maritime Administration, Ministry of Transport) for emergency assistance.

Upon receiving the distress call, Vietnam MRCC coordinated with HCM Coastal Radio Station to provide medical advice as first aid step to injured fishermen, and request fishing vessel alter its course and return to Vung Tau City as quickly as possible.

The specialized vessel SAR 272 stationed at Vung Tau immediately proceeded to the scene

Facing to emergency that could lead to a high mortality risk, under the command of the National Committee for Search and Rescue of Vietnam (VINASARCOM), Vietnam MRCC dispatched SAR 272 on duty in Vung Tau to carry out the mission.

SAR 272 approached the fishing vessel BĐ 97081 TS

At 15:12 (local time) on 30^th March, 2024, the rescue team approached the fishing vessel BĐ 97081 TS and carried out the victim-receiving process and gave him urgent first aid and immediately navigated to the Vung Tau city, for the handed-over operations with relevant authorities.

The rescue team handed over the patient to his family and relevant authorities

At 17:48 (local time) on 30^th March 2024, the fishermen Nguyen Bang was safely taken back to the berth of Vungtau MRCC, handed over to his family and relevant authorities. At present, the patient was transferred to Vungtau hospital for advanced treatment./.
