Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre No.IV organized 2023 joint maritime search and rescue field training

On 24 August, 2023, Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre No.IV (Nha Trang MRCC) organized 2023 2023 joint maritime search and rescue field training in order to strengthen the commanding, handling and coordinating tasks in Search and Rescue activities on search and rescue regions; improve the effectiveness of practical training with equipments when performing complicated cases. From there, all Nha Trang MRCC’s duty officers and crew learned lessons and experience to improve and increase the efficiency of coordination between Rescue Coordination Department and SAR vessels as well as relevant authorities when participating in handling urgent incidents at sea in the coming time.

The supposed case for this 2023 internal training was built with complicated natures such as: fire, explosion, flooding and grounding which required rescue forces to use specialized skills such as: information development, fire fighting to guide, remote medical consulting; applying SAR 273 and CN02-TSA’s equipments to firefight outside the vessel, support the distressed vessels to safely escape from the grounding, develop SAROPS plan for SAR 273 and CN02-TSA to search in expanded and parallel square patterns to rescue missing crew of the fishing vessel named KH 90354 TS.

By the end of the training, Nha Trang MRCC’s duty officers and crew proficiently used specialized search and rescue equipments, promoted their positivity and creativity to improve and increase the efficiency of coordination between Rescue Coordination Department and SAR vessels as well as relevant authorities when participating in handling urgent incidents at sea in the coming time.
