SAR 412 Deploys for Rescuing nine crews from Sinking Vessel QNa 92099 TS off-shore Cu Lao Cham, Quang Nam

On July 8, 2024, at 4:00 AM, the fishing vessel QNa 92099 TS with nine crew members, led by Captain Ngo Quang Trung, encountered a serious hull breach at coordinates 16º 06’ N latitude and 108º 37’ E longitude, about 15 nautical miles east-northeast of Son Tra Peninsula. As a result, the vessel started taking on water and began to sink, causing distress among the crew.

VINASARCOM promptly mobilized all available resources to assist the distressed crews. The specialized vessel SAR 412 was immediately deployed for the rescue mission.

At 10:41 PM, maritime rescue forces reached the distressed vessel QNg 92099 TS and safely transferred nine crew members to SAR 412 for medical care.

By 11:53 PM, the rescue forces successfully transported all crew members from QNa 92099 TS to Da Nang. Following medical attention, the crew members' health stabilized, and they were handed over to the relevant authorities as per protocol.

The leadership of the Da Nang MRCC visited the rescued crew to provide support and encouragement. In addition, they remind the crew members about safety, prepare technical aspects, machinery, and life-saving equipment before going to sea./.

The distressed sailors were taken to SAR 412 for medical care.
