The First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam visits and works at Vung Tau MRCC (Regional Centre III)

On March 6, 2024, Mr. Monji Yuichi, the First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, and the delegation visited and worked at Vung Tau MRCC (Regional Centre III) in Vung Tau City.

Welcoming and working with the delegation were Mr. Vu Viet Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre's Party Committee, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam MRCC; leadership and representatives of professional departments, and SAR vessel's Captains of Vung Tau MRCC.

At the working session, Center Region III introduced to the delegation the organizational structure, equipment, operational results, search and rescue region of the unit, some results of cooperation with Japan in the past, and the recent plan to receive "Specialized equipment for Maritime Search and Rescue operations" from the Japanese government's Non-Project. Vung Tau MRCC also proposed the need for cooperation with Japan in the coming time, such as creating conditions for officials to attend conferences and seminars as well as participating in training courses in Japan; Maintaining and strengthening search and rescue communication exercises; Strengthening coordination between both sides in search and rescue operations which involving Vietnam and Japan.

At the meeting, Mr. Monji Yuichi expressed his gratitude to Vietnam MRCC for enabling the visit. He acknowledged Vietnam MRCC's results of the SAR operations, training activities and Drills. He also wishes that in the coming time, there will be a specific plan to strengthen coordination with Vietnam MRCC in implementing the Non-Projects and improve the quality of cooperation practically and effectively.

Vietnam MRCC's leaders thanked Mr. Monji Yuich and the delegation for his visit, and looked forward to strengthening cooperation and support from the Japanese side in the upcoming time./.
