The National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee delegation surveyed and worked at the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center

On the afternoon of March 6, 2023, the working delegation of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense and Security (Committee) led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Hung, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, visited and worked with the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Center) in Hai Phong. The content of the working session is within the framework of the program to survey specialized agencies and units performing civil defense tasks in order to complete the draft Law on Civil Defense and the Decree detailing a number of articles of the Law on Civil Defense before being approved by the National Assembly.

The delegation also included Major General Tran Duc Thuan, a Standing Member of the Committee; Lieutenant General Doan Thai Duc, Chief of Office of the National Committee for Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue; Colonel Pham Hai Chau, Deputy Director of the Department of Search and Rescue and representatives from the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, etc.

Mr. Bui Van Minh, General Director of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center, spoke at the meeting.

At the conference, Mr. Bui Van Minh, General Director of the Center, introduced in detail the Center, regional Centers, infrastructure, specialized search and rescue fleet, and the quality of human resources of the Center. The General Director shared the advantages and difficulties in performing the tasks and proposed effective solutions to improve the Center's operational capacity.

In his concluding remarks at the Conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Hung, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, highly appreciated the efforts that the Center's officials and employees have made in recent years and requested the Center to overcome difficulties and implement effective solutions to continue to excellently complete the assigned tasks.
