On August 30, 2024, at 11:25 PM, while operating at location Latitude 15°17' North and Longitude 112°27' East, (approximately 190 nautical miles southeast of Son Tra Peninsula - Da Nang), the captain of fishing vessel QNa 90945 TS reported to the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (the Center) requesting urgent assistance for fisherman Ho Thanh Hai (born in 1978, from Tam Quang Commune, Nui Thanh District, Quang Nam Province) who had suffered an occupation accident with internal bleeding in his left eye, serious threat to his life.
Upon receiving the distress call, the Center coordinated with the Danang Radio to provide direct medical consultation to the vessel, guided initial first aid for the injured fisherman, and instructed the vessel QNa 90945 TS to expedite its journey back to Da Nang.

The rescue vessel was urgently deployed
Following directives from VINASARCOM, the Ministry of Transport, and the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the Center deployed the specialized search and rescue vessel SAR 412, stationed in Da Nang, to conduct a rescue operation.


SAR 412 vessel approached the fishing boat QNa 90945 TS
On August 31, 2024, at 8:09 AM the maritime rescue forces reached the fishing vessel QNa 90945 TS. The SAR 412 rescue team, along with medical staff from Da Nang Emergency Center 115, provided first aid and managed the bleeding of the injured fisherman before transferring him onto the SAR 412, which then swiftly headed towards the shore.

By 3:09 PM, the SAR 412 docked at Da Nang MRCC port, where the injured fisherman was handed over to relevant authorities and subsequently transported to a hospital in Da Nang for further treatment./.
